The US pulls troops out of Syria:
In a surprise announcement today, US President Donald Trump announced that he would be pulling US troops out of Syria. “The U.S. has done far more than anyone could have ever expected…It is time now for others in the region…to protect their own territory.” This action could allow Turkey to invade parts of Syria, remove protection from the Kurdish forces, and ultimately create potential conflicts with Israel.
Avigdor Liberman states he will not join any government if he has to compromise on religious reforms:
In an interview with Ma’ariv, Liberman said Netanyahu doesn’t understand “friendship or loyalty”, and that he would not join a coalition with Netanyahu even if he were offered a rotational deal to serve as Prime Minister, unless his religious reforms are agreed to. He also attacked Likud ministers Israel Katz and Miri Regev, calling Katz a “pathetic liar” and Regev a “beast”. Following his statements, the chances of Netanyahu forming a coalition agreement that includes LIberman appear unlikely.
Yesha Council releases map of settlements for the first time in a decade:
The Yesha Council which represents the settlements in Judea and Samaria released a “settlement map”. this week which includes demographic information, transportation and logistics, and industry and tourism information. Along with the map and associated data, the Council also released a vision for the future, which includes sovereignty and one million Israeli residents.
