I never left Judaism for another religion by believing in my Jewish Messiah!
The Holy One of Israel, the God of Israel has given us many names for Himself and for His Messiah in the Torah and the Tanakh; He is called the King of Glory, and He is also called the LORD of hosts. Psalm 24:10
In 1973 God made the Messianic Scriptures of the Torah and the Tanakh come alive off the pages of the Jewish Holy Scriptures and into my heart with His divine Love, and every day, for about three months. And then in the spring of 1982 I was suddenly raised up into Heaven where I stood before the King of Glory, who saved me and delivered me from my many lost years in drugs, the occult, and eastern religions.
For a Jewish person to believe in his God, the One and only God of Israel, and also to believe in and study God’s Holy Words as found in the Torah, the first five books of Moses, and also in the Tanakh, the rest of the books of the Jewish Holy Scriptures, does not mean that this Jewish person has ever left Judaism and converted to another religion from Judaism. And also to believe in the Messiah, as found in the Jewish Holy Scriptures, also does not mean that this Jewish person has ever left the Jewish faith of their forefathers. To say that he has done this is a lie!
There are over 225 Messianic Scripture prophesies in the Torah and the Tanakh about God’s promised Messiah, the One whom God said would be our Savior, the One that the God of Israel promised would bring us Salvation and also save us from all of our sins.
This letter is being directed primarily to encourage the Messianic Jewish believers not to be intimidated by other Jews; perhaps this can also help other Gentile believers.
To believe in our Jewish Messiah does not mean that a Jew has ever converted from his or her God given religion of Judaism to some other religion. To believe such a thing is a terrible lie, either his own lie, or even a lie perpetrated upon him by others. But it is still really just a lie!
The Israel Government tells many Jews who believe in Yeshua, “If you believe in Yeshua you have converted to another religion, and you are no longer a Jew!” But this is actually just a lie which so many Jews have believed! Yes, this is a big lie, a very big lie! But it is still just a lie!
Which religion has a Jewish person who believes in Yeshua as his Messiah converted to? In fact no where in the Torah or the Tanakh, or even in the Brit Hadashah (the New Covenant) did Messiah Yeshua ever tell anyone to form another religion. No where! It cannot be found!
Yeshua announced the Kingdom of Heaven coming to earth, with Himself reigning as Heaven’s King, who had come to earth to save mankind from all their sins and also to save the earth. This is the only Truth that can be found in the Torah and Tanakh, and also in the Brit Hadashah.
Why do we allow other Jews to put Jews who believe in Messiah Yeshua in a box that denies our Jewishness, about who we really are, and what we believe in from the Jewish Holy Scriptures? Yes, I believe in Judaism, and
I also believe in God’s Word found in the Jewish Holy Scriptures. And I have never left Judaism, nor will I ever convert to any other religion; but I do obey, and will obey God’s Word in the Torah, the Tanakh, and the Brit Hadashah as best that I can. I believe only in the God of Israel, and also in His Holy and unbreakable Word! ‘For He has magnified His Word above all of His name.’ Psalm 138:2
What exactly did our God, the God of Israel, prophesy about His Messiah in the more than 225 places in Tanakh?
Let’s take a look at a few of these Messianic Scripture prophesies from the Torah and the Tanakh, and read them, and learn the Truth about our promised Messiah, and also just what the God of Israel had told us that His Messiah would do for mankind.
Here we see God’s Promised New Covenant with Israel and Judah:
Jeremiah 31:31-34 “Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah not according to the Covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My Covenant which they broke though I was a Husband to them (a New Marriage Covenant with God) says the LORD. But this is the Covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My Torah in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” [This is what it means to be ‘born again’.]
Ezekiel 36:24-27 “For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.” [to be ‘born again’!]
Here is Messiah our Savior, God’s Suffering Righteous Servant, who would die in our place for all our sins, to set us free from sin: Isaiah 53:4-12 Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way. And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment, and who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living. For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. And they made His grave with the wicked, but with the rich at His death, because He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My Righteous Servant shall justify many, for He shall bear their iniquities. Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. [Read all Isaiah 53]
Here Father Almighty God is speaking to His Son, the Messiah:
Psalm 110:1 a Psalm of David. (נְאֻם יְהֹוָה לַאדֹנִי) The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”
Here we see the Messiah, as the Son of Man who would be given God’s rulership over the earth by His Father, the Ancient of Days: Daniel 7:13-14 “I was watching in the night visions, and behold, One like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him. Then to Him (the Son of Man) was given Dominion and Glory and a Kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His Dominion is an Everlasting Dominion, which shall not pass away, and His Kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed.”
God said He would never give His Glory to anyone, but to Himself: Isaiah 42:8 “I am the LORD, that is My name; and My Glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images.”
Isaiah 48:11 “For how should My name be profaned? And I will not give My Glory to another.” [Therefore this Son of Man has to be God Himself!]
Here the Messiah is announced coming from the Seed of Eve: Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity between you (Satan) and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He (the Messiah) shall bruise your (Satan’s) head, and you shall bruise His heel.”
Here we see that God’s Messiah would be born from a virgin: Isaiah 7:13-14 Then he said, “Hear now, O house of David! Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also? Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanu El.” [This virgin would be from king David’s and high priest Zadok’s family.]
Here Abraham tells Isaac that God will provide the Lamb: Genesis 22:8 And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide Himself the Lamb for a burnt offering.”
Here again we see God’s Promised Messiah born as a Child, a Son, whose name would be Everlasting Father and Mighty God: Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the Government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful (Miracle), Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His Government and Peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The…Lord of hosts will perform this.
Here we see the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem, in Israel: Micah 5:2-5 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from Everlasting. Therefore He shall give them up, until the time that she who is in labor has given birth. Then the remnant of His brethren shall return to the children of Israel. And He shall stand and feed His flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD His God. And they shall abide, for now He shall be great to the ends of the earth; And this One shall be peace.”
Here we see Messiah prophesied to come and also to die for others: Daniel 9:25 “Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince, there shall be 7 weeks and 62 weeks; the street shall be built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times. 9:26 And after the 62 weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; Here we see our Messiah returning to Israel and again saving His people, with Israel looking upon Messiah who was pierced for us:
Zechariah 12:9-11 “It shall be in that Day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. In that day there shall be a great mourning in Jerusalem …”
Here God tells Israel they must obey God’s Prophet (Messiah): Deuteronomy 18:15 “The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear … 18:18-19 I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and I will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him!”
Question, ‘What is God’s name and what is His Sons’ name’: Proverbs 30:4 Who has ascended into Heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son’s name, if you know?
Here Messiah walks into the fiery furnace and saves three men: Daniel 3:23-25 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.” “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”
Here we see the Messiah as God’s own Arm that will save Israel: Isaiah 59:15-20 Then the LORD saw it, and it displeased Him that there was no justice. He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor. Therefore His own Arm brought Salvation for Him; and His own righteousness, it sustained Him. For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head. He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak. According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay, fury to His adversaries, recompense to His enemies; the coastlands He will fully repay. “The Redeemer will come to Zion, and to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,” says the LORD.
Here King Messiah comes and offers His Blood for all mankind: Zechariah 9:9-11 “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having Salvation, lowly and riding on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey. I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim and the horse from Jerusalem; the battle bow shall be cut off. He shall speak peace to the nations. His dominion shall be ‘from sea to sea, and from the River (Euphrates) to the ends of the earth.’ As for you also, because of the Blood of your Covenant, I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.”
Here we see Messiah as God’s Servant offering His life for us: Isaiah 42:1-8 “Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth Justice for Truth. He will not fail nor be discouraged, till He has established Justice in the earth; and the coastlands shall wait for His law.” Thus says God the LORD, who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, who gives breath to the people on it, and spirit to those who walk on it: “I, the LORD, have called You in Righteousness, and will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a Covenant to the people, as a light to the Gentiles, to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the prison, those who sit in darkness from the prison house. I am the LORD, that is My name…”
Here we again see Messiah coming and offering His Life for us: Isaiah 49:5-9 “And now the LORD says, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, to bring Jacob back to Him, so that Israel is gathered to Him (For I shall be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and My God shall be My strength), Indeed He says, ‘It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, that You should be My Salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ” Thus says the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, their Holy One, to Him whom man despises, to Him whom the nation abhors, to the Servant of rulers: “Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel; and He has chosen You.” Thus says the LORD, “In an acceptable time I have heard You, and in the Day of Salvation I have helped You; I will preserve You and give You as a Covenant to the people, to restore the earth, to cause them to inherit the desolate heritages; that You may say to the prisoners, ‘Go forth,’ to those who are in darkness, ‘Show yourselves.’ ”
Here we see the Messiah, as the King and High Priest of Heaven, building the Jerusalem Temple, and also sitting on His throne: Zechariah 6:11-13 “Take the silver and gold, make an elaborate crown, and set it on the head of Jehoshua, the son of Jeho-zadok, the high priest. [This high priest Yehoshua is also called Yeshua in Ezra 5:2] Then speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts, saying, “Behold, the Man whose name is the BRANCH (Tzemach)! From His place He shall branch out, and He shall build the Temple of the LORD; Yes, He shall build the Temple of the LORD. He shall bear the Glory, and shall sit and rule on His throne; so He shall be a Priest on His throne, and the counsel of Peace shall be between them both.” ’
I find it so amazing that our Messiah and Savior Yeshua, Heaven’s King and Great High Priest was born the fulfillment of these two families, king David’s family and high priest Zadok’s family, and later from family of Zerubbabel, the governor of Judah (from king David’s family) and also from family of Yehoshua (Yeshua) high priest of Aaron, (from Zadok’s family) through Yeshua’s virgin mother Miriam. Jeremiah 33:18, 24; Zechariah 3:1, 8; and 6:11-13
To believe in the Holy Words of the God of Israel that our God has written in His Torah and in His Tanakh about our promised Messiah and Savior, is not about leaving one’s Jewish religion, Judaism, and going to some other religion, as so many have told the Messianic Jews, and perhaps which many Messianic Jews have also come to believe. For this is such a great lie, which must now be collectively challenged! This stronghold over Judaism which denies Yeshua as our Jewish Messiah (and also as the Messiah of all peoples) must be broken.
It’s time for us to stand against this great lie of who the Messianic Jews are with the Truth from God’s Holy Word, which King Yeshua also did just before going to the Cross. Yeshua died to bring us Eternal Salvation with His Father because of His Great Love and Mercy for all of mankind!
John 18:37 Yeshua answered, “You say rightly that I am a King. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the Truth. Everyone who is of the Truth hears My voice.”
John 5:39-40 “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have Eternal Life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have Life.”
John 8:24 “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He (your Messiah and Savior and Lord), you will die in your sins!”
Luke 24:44 Then He (Yeshua) said to them, “These are the Words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and in the Prophets and in the Psalms concerning Me.”
“And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Yeshua (Jesus), for He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21
“And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the LORD (Yeshua) shall be saved!” Joel 2:32
